There will be gift cards given out randomly throughout the weekend at different activities. You will have to be present if your name is drawn to win.  The larger gift cards will be given out randomly throughout the business meeting, and again you will have to be present to win.

Stipend Offers

The Alumni Board is offering stipends for those who have not attended in the last five years or more. Stipends include meals and events for the chosen candidate. The Alumni Board is also offering caregiver stipends so that any members who need support can have it without cost to the caregiver. The caregiver cannot be an alumni member, must accompany their alumni member at all times, and are subject to the same rules as all convention attendees. The Alumni Board will select candidates for up to ten stipends.  The deadline to submit candidates is Monday, May 27, 2023.  

Members who want to submit the names for any stipend should provide the candidates’ contact information to Michael Talley.

Campus security will be available throughout the convention weekend.  You may even see a Talladega County Deputy Sheriff on campus who patrols the AIDB campuses.  We are glad to have them patrolling.  If you require the services of a Deputy Sheriff, please contact security at 256-761-3266.


Yellow and blue armbands will be issued to every registered member and guest. The armbands are a part of our security measures. If you notice Alumni members on campus without an armband, please direct them to registration. If you notice anyone that you do not know, please notify security or one of the Alumni officers.

Lifeguards will be on duty.  All members and their guests must have armbands and follow rules and instructions.  


Although the Alumni Association provides security, we do not assume liability for personal belongings. It is the responsibility of each member and guest to secure his or her own personal possessions.  

Local transportation (within Talladega city limits) will be provided to those who are registered for the convention. The buses are intended for traveling to and from convention functions. Please show your armbands to the driver as you enter the bus. Phone numbers for transportation will be handed out at registration. Local bus transportation will run as follows: 

Friday, June 2, 2023, from 5:00. until Midnight

Saturday, June 3, 2023, from 7:00 A.M. until Midnight

Sunday, June 4, 2023, from 7:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M.

Alumni members who need a ride and can get to Birmingham or if you live in the Birmingham area there will be a Bus at the Birmingham Bus Station on Friday, June 2, 2023, you must contact Alumni Secretary, Ellen Culver by email at asbalumnisecretary21@gmail.com or by phone at: (256) 589-9906. by May 31, 2023. Please leave a detailed voicemail with your name and the names of any others who will be riding the bus with you. 

     The AIDB bus will be at the Birmingham bus station from 10:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. to pick up anyone arriving by bus on Friday, June 3rd. Pick up at the Birmingham AIDB Regional Center and AIB Satellite Workshop will be at 11:00 A.M. The round-trip charge for riding the Birmingham bus is $25.00. You must pay this with your online pre-registration or pre-registration by mail. If you register onsite the money is due then. The bus will return to Birmingham Sunday morning, June 4, 2023 at 9:45 A.M.

On campus housing is available for all members. The dorms will open on Friday, June 2, 2023 at noon. Monroe Hall and Orr Hall will be used for married couples. Williams Hall will host men, and Ward Hall will host women. There will be limited space in Monroe Hall and Orr Hall. Room assignments for housing will be made on a first-come-first-served basis.  Please remember that our campus is your home away from home and the facilities should be treated with respect.

Be sure to check your room when checking in and report to the houseparent on duty any problems that need correcting. When you leave on Sunday be sure that your room is clean and in order.  If any rooms are left in disorder or are damaged, the occupants will be subject to a fee of $300 and, at the discretion of the Board of Trustees, a reprimand or dismissal from participating in Alumni activities.

Rooms are first come first serve.  If you want a room/certain room/certain roommate, you should strongly consider preregistration. Pre-registration forms must be received no later than Wednesday, May 31, 2023. You are not preregistered until your payment in full has been received.
